Sequential Illustration

These are samples of the sequential illustration I did for Compass Point Books through Bill Smith Studio in New York.

The 4 books;
Cheerleading for Fun, Modern Dance for Fun, Martial Arts for Fun, and Horseback Riding for Fun, are how-to books for teenagers.

The illustrations were designed to show progressive movements for the activities described. There were about 6 sequence sets per book.

All illustrations were done with 3D figure models from written and verbal instruction, supplemented by some photos. Business was conducted entirely by email, FTP, and telephone.

Using 3D models made it quick and easy to alter the figures to fine-tune the poses. As well, changes of clothing, gender, hair, and so on were also facilitated quickly.
